Riaz Dean has travelled extensively through Asia and written two other books about this region: _Mapping the Great Game_ and _The Stone Tower_ (republished as _Mapping the Silk Road_). Born and raised in the Fiji Islands, he subsequently lived on three continents before settling in New Zealand.
